An opportunity sits right at the fingertips for aspiring engineers as a Waikato university slashes study time. The University of Waikato is offering a Fast Track graduate programme that enables candidates with relevant degrees and experience to complete a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in two-years instead of four.
The programme is unique to Waikato University and comes at a time when firms are cutting paychecks, reducing hours and indicate 2000 jobs are at risk. Owen Curtain, has over 25 years of engineering experience and signed up for the programme after "feeling a bit behind."
"The world has advanced so much without me even computer engineering career technology is changing so much that I need a complete new revamp and get back with the programme.” Curtain told Stuff.
